Also known as the director of photography, the cinematographer is an artist with the eye the movie director can trust to come up with the perfect lighting and shadow using a movie-grade motion picture camera. The cinematographer makes on-the-spot decisions on both technical and creative aspects relative to getting the right visuals as envisioned by the movie director. These motion picture camera are not the same as consumer video cameras, though the recent digital motion picture trends has created a new breed of digital 3D and high definition 3K resolution motion picture camera that are still beyond the reach of consumers.
