Warehouse operatives undertake physical work in warehouses. Day to day duties include things like driving fork lift trucks, operating machinery, packing and unloading boxes and working on conveyor belts. They need to have a high standard of physical fitness as they spend a large amount of their days on their feet, and they need to be practical with good common sense. Most warehouse operatives work in a team so it is essential that they have good communication skills and the ability to get on well with others. You do not need any formal qualifications to get into this job but a good standard of basic education can be helpful.

Dear Mr Manager
Re Warehouse Operative
I am writing in response to your advertisement for the above role and am attaching my CV for your information.
As you will see from my CV, I have spent the past year working in the packing department of a busy factory and I am now looking to take on more responsibilities. I have recently achieved my Reach Forklift Truck license and I have excellent practical skills. I am extremely hard working with excellent time keeping skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment. I have a positive, flexible attitude to work and am always willing to take on new tasks and learn new skills. I am a friendly, approachable person with a good sense of humour and I work very well in a team with others, although I can also work with minimal supervision and am good at using my initiative. I have a very good attendance record, am physically fit and am able to undertake heavy, physical work.
I am very keen to work with your company and believe I have the right skills and attitude necessary to become an invaluable member of your team.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely
Bob McAndrew
